| Why do so many other countries dislike America? The majority have never stepped foot in America and have strange opinions of it. I was reading an old message board about the best place to live and it was all about America and how we have poor health care, high crime rates, poor education, the whole nine yards. I believe the majority of the people on the message board where from the U.K and Ireland and other European countries. I went to school with a guy who was from Britain and he said that he was "taught" that most Americans were fat and that there were vast extremes people were either rich or poor there was very little in between. When he got here he said he was surprised that looking at the people around him, the majority were average weight and it was no different then in Britain. Furthermore, he was in America to go to college because there were "better" opportunities here. He said there are more variety in every aspect food, clothing, movies, TV, stores... blah blah. I come from an upper middle class family but we were not always upper middle class. Both of my parents came from lower middle class families. My mothers moms family were Italian and German immigrants and her father is a half Scottish half Native American who were also poor. My fathers family are English/Irish and Native American and were southern coal miners and moved to maryland for job opportunity's and from what I heard my grandfathers grand mom was a crazy native american who abandoned all her guyren and lived in a cave lol. They will never threaten us or our friends. So we can sit back in our country and ignore things. We can pull all our troops back. We can shore up our borders and totally stop the illegal invaders coming into our country. We can build walls and stop being a part of the world. We have a responsibility. There are those who cannot protect themselves. And the men and women of the United States are willing to give up their lives to protect them. How many countries can say that? How many care enough? | My 1983 kz550 ltd valve noise? how to adjust? I bought an 83 Kawasaki 550 LTD last year, and have been doing some routine maintenance on it. The bike only has 2500 original miles on it, and spent most of its life inside a bedroom of someone's house. The bike runs good, sometimes takes a little bit to warm up, but runs like a champ. My problem is, I can hear a single ticking noise coming from the valve/cam cover. The ticking is present at idle, and gets faster as the revs go higher. (it sounds like its over the 4th cylinder) It doesn't get louder when I rev the bike, just faster. I had it checked out, and the guy I had look at it told me all the valves/lifters were within spec, but I don't think I should be hearing the noise. So how would I know if the valves need adjusted, and how would I do that? I know its a pretty big question, but I can't find it online, and for some reason I can't register on kzrider. If you have any tips for this bike, or advice on checking/ adjusting the valves on this bike, feel free. Thank you! |
| At 2.5k miles there is no need for valve adjustment. The noise you hear is a cup, like a hydraulic lifter that is either not holding or building pressure. Taking into consideration how long this bike sat it could clear itself up simply by riding it and allowing it to un stick. If after racking up 100 miles it still ticks it'll need to be replaced. Then you will need to adjust the valves. a detailed procedure I suggest you follow a repair manuals instruction for that and not internet advice. |
| Where can I find an attorney who will represent me for a custody/divorce hearing for a low or no retainer? I have had custody of my 3 guyren all their lives. They have the same father who has been in and out of their lives depending on whether or not he wanted to act like a parent. He just ended a 10 year methadone addiction stemming from a prior herion addiction (yeah, I got a winner), which his mother knew about and not only didn't do anything to help him, but also funded this habit as he has never held down a job for more than a few months. I have proof of all this and that I have been the sole guardian/ care giver for my guyren. So here's the story. My guyren and I were living happily together in a house I just purchased in Columbia, SC. In November, 2008, I allowed "him" to move in with us because he gave me another sob story that he had no where to go, etc. He was not working and from November 2008- Febuary 2009, I was working two jobs, 70 hours a week to pay for Christmas, his methadone, etc. I know, I know. He started , yet again, to verbally abuse me and this time, I wasn't going to take his crap. I told him I wanted him out August 2009, I even wrote up an eviction form which he balled up and threw at me. He told me I would have to force him out and so I did. I filed an emergency hearing through the Richland County Family Court Sept 11, 2009. My guyren and I stayed with a friend while waiting for the hearing while he stayed rent and everything free in our house! The hearing took place on Sept. 25, 2009. I received a protective order due to past physical abuse and verbal threats, custody, guy support (which I had never gotten from him before) and he had to be out of my house by October 2, 2009. He was and my guyren and I finally went home. December 2009, he started to take more of an interest in his guyren, especially my oldest who was less maintenance than my younger ones. My order expired March 2010. That month, he told me he had quit taking methadone, was getting a place with his cousins and wanted to spend even more time with the guys, the oldest, really. My guyren and I were getting ready to move to Greenwood, SC in Aug. 2010 so I could attend Peidmont Tech to finish my associates degree and move on to Lander University. When my guyren and I got to Greenwood, the house I had lined up for us fell through and we were hotel bound for about a month until I found a great 4 bedroom I could afford. When I found out the house fell through, after seeing he had made a decent attempt to clean himself up, I allowed my oldest son to enroll in school under his custody until I found the house we live in now. We all agreed this was only temp. I got the house on Oct 17 2010 and then my oldest was ready. His father was not willing to let him go. I took him back into my custody b/c that was the agreement and that is what my son wanted, he told me some pretty bad stuff was going on over there that he hadn't mentioned to me until he was back in my custody. He moved back in with me Oct 28 and was enrolled in school the following week. I talked to their father, this is what my son wanted, etc. He pretended to be fine with it. Until I told him November 8 that I filed for guy support again. He never paid any of the other CS and was behind $4400.00. I told him I would let that go. He asked me Nov. 21 if he could have all 3 of our guyren for the Thanksgiving holiday 2010 and bring them back that Sunday. I agreed. My guyren never returned. He called that Sunday said he was keeping my guyren, so I called the police. I had no order in place and we are still legally married, so there was nothing they could do. I immediatley filed another emergency hearing and was there by Dec 15. He came to court with a lawyer his mother paid for and with about 6 affidavits saying I am a drug addict, bad mother, etc. Well, the judge bought all this crap, ordered a hair follicle test, which cam eback negitive, of course, granted HIM temp custody and started deducting my back guy support!!!! The judge ordered a Guardian Ad Litem and I believe she is almost done with her investigation b/c I have gotten a bill. I have proved to her that everything he and his family (who wrote the affidavits) was totally false and rediculous. I have audio recordings of him committing contempts of the tempt order, telling me I shouldn't have file for CS, grabbing my ***, asking for one of my perscription meds (I started taking for anxiety after he STOLE my guyren). ETC. I will win the case, I just need a lawyer to represent me. I can pay, but only payments. I can not afford a $3000 retainer! If there is anyone out there who knows an attorney who will help me and my poor guyren, please let me know. It can be confidential, I will send an e-mail address if you wish. I really need someone to help me get me guyren home. They have to be peeled off of me everytime they have to go back to him. They don't even know him! | You need to go and talk with a family violence shelter. If you are in SC I know of one, talk to Compass of Carolina, they are in Grenville but should be able to point you to a local place near you. You have proof that he is an abuser, so your guyren are in danger, they can help, they have lawyers on staff that take payment plans. |
| Is this fair? Why do the courts do this sort of thing? I make more moneyt than my to-be ex wife who doesn't work, but she has her new boyfriend supporting her and his dad furnishing her with an expensive lawyer, who is asking for all sorts of extra expenses, such as social workers to come to beoth of our houses, and whole other attorney for the guyren, and psychological evaluations of the guyren. And so the court says because I have a job and she doesn't, that I have to pay forall of it plus my $900 in guy support, while the custody case goes forward. So I pay like $20,000 and she pays nothing and gets just as good legal representation and has a nice place furnished for free so that the guys can live with her, and I have to give her $3,000 cash right now, and $900 a month and maintain aseperate household with seperate bedrooms fro all 3 guys, all because I have a job making $70,000 a year and she sits on her *** and lives off of me, her new boyfriend, and her new boyfriend's father, and welfare?!?! She wants alimony for the rest of her life and an extra $600 a month in guy support if she wins full custody. did I mention the fact that I had custody of the guys for 6 years and she hrdly ever cam to see them, got back together for 3 years, and then she leaves me and takes trhem, and I somehow have a snowball's chance in hell of getting custody all because she layed around the house and did nothing while the guys waited on her? |
